Já está funcionando e atendendo ao público a nova Biblioteca Pública Municipal Padre Arantes do Nascimento, um novo espaço cultural situado no centro do setor Nova Brasília, no prédio da antiga empresa Dalcin Planejamentos, na Av. Campo Grande.
Transferida do antigo prédio do setor Xavantina por força de gestão da Secretaria Estadual de Cultura, que não via mais condições da biblioteca permanecer no local que hoje é sede do arquivo morto da Prefeitura, a nova biblioteca pública municipal será oficialmente inaugurada entre os dias 28 e 30 de dezembro, dentro do pacote de inaugurações que encerrará a gestão do prefeito João Batista Vaz da Silva, o Cebola.
A SEGUNDA NO ESTADO
Localizada no centro da cidade, após gestões para instalação em outros dois locais que não atenderam às exigências legais de preço e localização, o nova biblioteca será um verdadeiro centro cultural, com sala de reuniões, anfiteatro para reuniões com 50 assentos, laboratório de informática com doze computadores, brinquedoteca, sala para atendimento psicológico, e todo o acervo de livros atualizado e com novas aquisições.
“Foi um investimento de R$ 200 mil que fizemos, que deixaram nossa biblioteca a segunda melhor equipada do Estado, só perdendo para a biblioteca de Juína, feita pelo prefeito Altir” disse o prefeito Cebola em entrevista no último domingo, 29.
